Caregiving System Advising · Live on Zoom
Bring the caregiving situation you keep trying to figure out.
September 26, 2026 at 3 pm Eastern | Live on Zoom | 90 minutes | Free
You may already know quite a bit about the problem in front of you.
You may have talked with the doctor, read about the condition, asked questions, tried a different approach, talked it through with your husband or another family member, and made adjustments that seemed reasonable at the time.
And yet there may still be something you cannot quite determine.
Maybe something has changed, but most of life still looks the same.
Maybe the doctor has given you a recommendation, but you are the one who has to figure out what that recommendation actually requires at home.
Maybe your mom still wants the same thing she has always wanted, but making that possible now requires more from you or from other people.
Maybe you have taken on one small responsibility after another until you realize the current arrangement works partly because you keep making it work behind the scenes.
Or maybe there is simply one situation that keeps coming back, and you need to understand what you are missing.
That is what you may bring to Ask the DigniCare™ Advisor.
You do not need to bring your whole caregiving story.
Bring the situation you are trying to understand now.
During this live 90-minute Zoom session, up to 6 caregivers will bring real caregiving situations and receive Caregiving System Advising from Lizette Cloete, OTR/L, founder of DigniCare™ by Design.
You may bring something that sounds relatively small.
A challenge with medications.
A new problem with the phone.
A refusal that is getting harder to work around.
A recommendation you do not know how to carry out.
A responsibility that somehow became yours.
Something your spouse or parent can still do, but not quite as reliably as before.
Or you may bring something that has larger consequences.
The question is not whether your situation sounds serious enough.
The question is whether you have reached the point where understanding what is happening is no longer enough, because you still need to determine what the situation now requires and what is actually yours to do.
This is advising, not another workshop about caregiving.
This is not a presentation followed by an open floor for questions.
It is not based on the assumption that you are starting from scratch or that you have not already tried to figure this out.
You probably have.
You have been watching what is happening, gathering information, making calls, checking, reminding, adjusting, praying, consulting professionals and trying to honor the person entrusted to your care without taking over too soon or waiting too long.
When you bring your situation, we will work with the reality that actually exists.
We will begin with your situation and clarify:
what has happened,
what has changed,
what remains reliable,
what you are already doing,
who is carrying which responsibilities,
what authority actually exists, and
what other people or professional systems have said or required.
Then we will work toward what the evidence means here.
Sometimes the issue you bring really is the issue that needs to be addressed.
Sometimes it means something has changed in how much your person can reliably do on their own, or in what the caregiving situation now requires, even if no one has clearly named that change yet.
Sometimes the answer is not a larger change at all. One part of the current arrangement may simply need to be clarified or adjusted.
And sometimes the most faithful next step is smaller than the decision you are afraid you are being forced to make.
When the information supports a recommendation, you will have a clear recommendation about what needs attention, what should happen first, and why.
The goal is to help you understand what needs attention now, what should happen first, what can wait, and what you do not have to decide yet.
Everyone in the room is there to be advised.
Ask the DigniCare™ Advisor is not a webinar, workshop or a support-group meeting where most people attend to listen while a few people participate.
It is a small live advising room.
Each caregiver who attends comes with a real situation of her own.
That is also why registration is intentionally limited.
The session lasts approximately 90 minutes, and the purpose is not to solve every part of anyone's caregiving situation in one conversation. We will work with the situation you bring, determine what can responsibly be understood from what is known, and order the next step as far as the available information allows.
You will also know when part of the next step belongs with a physician, attorney, therapist, pastor or another professional with the appropriate expertise or authority.
Caregiving System Advising does not replace those people. It helps you determine what the information and realities already present mean within the caregiving situation you are actually living.
This may be for you if you keep thinking…
"I know what the doctor said. I just don't know what that means I need to do now."
"Most things are still okay, but this one thing is different."
"I can keep doing this for now, but I am no longer sure that means we should keep doing it this way."
"She still wants to stay at home. I want that too. I just need to understand what making that possible now actually requires."
"I seem to be the person who notices, remembers and follows up on everything, but I do not actually have authority over all of it."
"I have researched this. I do not think another article is going to answer the question I am actually asking."
You do not have to arrive knowing exactly how to phrase the problem.
You need to be able to tell me what is happening.
We can work from there.
Ask the DigniCare™ Advisor is recorded.
If you prefer to limit how identifiable you are in the recording, you may keep your camera off and use a first name, initials, or another Zoom display name during the session. These choices can reduce identifying information, although they cannot guarantee anonymity.
Your advising conversation may be edited after the live session and will be used as part of the Dementia Caregiver Support for Christians podcast and other DigniCare™ by Design content to help caregivers like you.
Because you will be discussing a real caregiving situation, please decide whether you are comfortable participating publicly before you register.
You should not share information during the session that you do not have permission to disclose or that you do not want included in a recording.
Registration requires your affirmative agreement to the recording and use of your participation.
You cannot register for this session without agreeing to be recorded.
